This is probably the main tactic people fall in to when taking out travel insurance. Most travel insurance takers tend to believe that all insurance policies are the same in terms of the basic cover provided. However this may not be the case as the basic cover varies once the overall policy mark drops below a certain point. These types of policies are often referred to as ‘cheap travel insurance policies’, these types of policies will either have ridiculously low limits for things like the allowance on baggage cover, money reimbursement, flight delay cover, or there may be no cover for any of these areas.
So if you are travelling with goods that are expensive, it could be electronics, jewellery, or even equipment for the holiday. Make sure you have the right type of coverage. Otherwise you might be in for a nasty surprise when you receive a decision on your claim, and why would you want a policy that doesn’t cover your basic needs? Just seems like a waste of money to me otherwise.
